“O, Miami”

“O, Miami” was conceived on Valentine’s day, a couple of weeks after the end of a five year relationship. This work is a visual ode to young love — love that is unaware of the challenges of the world; love that is unruly and profoundly passionate. Two closeted 16 year-olds, leaning on one another, being their candid selves in public for the very first time. That April 12th of 2015, the two boys were in the presence of a moment of true bliss. ”O, Miami” was painted on the bedsheets we used to share. Stained bedsheets that saw affection and love, arguments and tears. They saw the strengthening of an unbreakable bond, and they now share it with the world.
